You will reap the benefits of massage if it becomes a regular part of your life. My goal is for us to work together to take better care of your health, long-term.
Communication is key. I need to know what you're feeling, experiencing and what you're looking to gain in order to best help you. In turn, I will explain the treatment and what you can expect to gain from it.
Massage is a tool to help heal. Whether it's stress, illness or simply to pamper yourself, the benefits of massage can be life changing. I would be honored to take that journey with you.
I use a variety of different modalities in my treatments. Here I explain some specifically; however, after years of experience, I mostly blend them into whatever your specific needs may be, and may vary depending on your needs each session.
Deep Tissue Massage reaches deeper layers of muscles. It is used to break down knots and relieve pressure points throughout the body. This massage is beneficial for athletes and those who sit for long periods of time.
The goal of Swedish Massage is to melt away muscle tension and increase the blood flow to your heart. Swedish Massage is extremely therapeutic as it decreases muscle toxins, increases oxygen levels in the blood, and improves flexibility in the body.
Initially I was trained in Ashiastu, where I hold onto ceiling bars in order to stand on, walk on, and/or use my feet for portions of the session. This helps me increase pressure in certain areas as well as get deeper on tight areas or larger surfaces. Currently I have switched from using ceilling bars to the use of an under-table strap–a technique called Sarga–which omits the need for ceiling bar installation, and allows me greater ergonomics as well as the ability to more easily adjust pressure.
I am currently adding the art of cupping to my practice. Cupping therapy is not new. It dates back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures. People get it for many purposes, including to help with pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation, and to support deep-tissue massage.
Aromatherapy massage, using 100% organic essential oils, is used for a variety of different reasons: relaxation, pain management, and improved mood. These are also some of the basic benefits of massage therapy. Adding essential oils is thought to enhance such benefits and improve well-being.
Reflexology is the application of pressure to areas on the feet (or the hands). Reflexology is generally relaxing and may help alleviate stress. The theory behind reflexology is that areas of the foot correspond to organs and systems of the body.
Adding thermotherapy and/or hydrotherapy to a massage session is a wonderful way to attempt to increase soft tissue compliance prior to hands-on bodywork.
